Well that went really well, i managed to get a design idea and complete it for the crit today. Crit went well and they think the design is good, just a few little changes to make.
Im so pleased that I managed to get the design right in time.
We also get the weekend off, dont get the next brief till Monday.

Just had a tutorial, design is still wrong. Ok what I think im going to do is start again, well not from scratch but write myself my own brief of what i want the design to have and look like.
This might sound a little crazy as the Crit is tomorrow, but I think I will be able to get a design done in time.

Ok things arn't going to well, since I last wrote on here i've done all the research I can and had a tutorial yesterday for some of my ideas. Also we have had a crit for a main design today.
But it is total wrong, i get some things right and others wrong. My design is ok but my logo and titles are total wrong, then i get the logo and titles right, then my designs aren't good.
It is really annoying. What can i do?
Might go home and forget about it for a little while.

To be honest, since we got the brief last saturday I haven't done much work. Getting alot of hours at work.
On Monday while at Uni I decided that I want to redesign the packaging for Lard, out of the options I had. I choose Lard because it is the one product out of the option which has always had the same packaging, its changed a little, but has always looked similiar. Also the product is boring and i wanted to set a changle for my self.
At the moment i am still on research, little behind.
Also while im here, i've decided to change my titles to dates ^^^^ this is because i've seen other blogs that have done it and it looks neat all the way through.

Crit and new brief
Had the crit for 'Business Identity', went really well, everyone liked the idea and the designs but they thought i should add the split personality idea to the letterhead and compliment slip aswell.

Day before crit
I have finished my research on Marilyn, and found that she was a women who didn't really have a great life, before and while she was famous. When i said this in the tutorial, we came up with a really good idea on using split personality as the main view point for her stationary.
Since the tutorial i have been trying to decide what is the best way to show split personality, for the business card i came up with the idea of having a hiden business card inside a business. The front card showing Marilyn Monroe who everyone knows and the inside(hidin) card showing Norma Jeane Mortenson, the real her.

Tired
I've just finished work and its 7 o'clock, didn't get much research done over the weekend because i had work. I am really tired and i got work all day again tomorrow and i got a tutorial for my designs on thursday. I have alot to do. Hand in friday.

We have just finished 'Thankyou', now they have just given use the next brief which is 'Business Identity'.

I have gone over alot of ideas since the tutorial yesterday.
A keyring which i think sounds bad, something to help him in his job, which will also remind him of helping me. But the way i have decided to communicate my thankyou to him is by a certificate which will show my dad that i have achieved with his help.
After the crit, i was told that i should change the name on the certificate to my dads name, then this will show him that he has done something good instead of me and him being the reason for it. I think this is a good idea but i will have to change the words around a bit on the design.
Im also dont like the design I have done either so I think I will stick with the same idea, just change the design.

Morning of tutorial for 'Thankyou'
Well, i have decided to thank my dad for this project. The reason being, even though all my family have helped me get to uni, its my dad that has helped the most. Also i think that if we are going to be thanking someone it should be personal, not to someone who you hardly know and has done something thats made you a little happier.
I have done research on my dad (which wasn't hard obviously, because i know him well ) and also on what other people have done to say thankyou and why. But i am still stuck on how I am going to visually communicate it to my dad. Maybe after the tutorial an idea will come to mind.

First Project
Yesterday we got the brief for the first project.
First thought being ok, this might be difficult to achieve with the time i've got.
This project is split into four task, each will last about one or two weeks. The first task we have till friday to complete. Thankfully we have time afterwards to add to it, while we are doing the next projects.
'Thankyou' is the name of our first project. We have to decide on someone to say thankyou to and why, then we must find the most appropriate visual way of communicating this to them.

Back at Uni
Well, im back at uni. Excited.
The summer break was ok, was really busy most of the time, working mostly. When I wasn't working I would try to get back to my home town to see my family, and in the middle of this, i moved house twice.
During the summer i got promoted at my job (Greggs the bakery) to senior sales which means more responsibility and having to manage the shop a couple times a week, control over the shop. I feel that this is a good thing, its something i could add to my cv and I enjoy it but it could be a problem now im back at uni. The reason for this being, I will be doing alot of hours at work and having to do the uni work at the same time. It will come down to me having good time management. If it comes to me not being able to do the best i can at uni then i will talk to my work, either try cut my hours down or go back to what i was.
So far i have planned it so:
Monday - work at Greggs in morning till 12.30 and then uni from 1.30 till 4.30
Tuesday - work all day
Wednesday - day off from work and Uni but I will be going in to uni to do extra work
Thursday - Uni
Friday - Uni
Saturday - Work all day
Sunday - Work all day
-also when i've finished work I will try to get as much work done as possible.
